**In Kiev, outbreaks of dangerous infections could begin after just seven days without water and sewer services, Ukrainian media report, citing the Health Ministry’s Center for Public Health**

They say that a prolonged shutdown of Kiev’s sewage pumping stations and a lack of water supply create conditions for infections to spread through contaminated hands and household items.

Outbreaks of cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery, salmonellosis, hepatitis A, rotavirus and norovirus could occur.
