**Mass protests over the housing crisis are taking place in Spain. In Madrid alone, around 70,000 people took to the streets**

Protesters are calling for open-ended rental contracts, lower rents, and the seizure of housing owned by “vulture funds.” According to a study, in 2025 Spaniards spent an average of 50% of their salaries on rent.
