**MASSIVE WILDFIRES IN BELGIUM**

In the Belgian province of Liège, **a natural fire has engulfed more than 2,700 hectares of forest.**

**The fire broke out on Friday, is developing rapidly, and has already become the worst in the country's history** in terms of the damage caused — Belgium's largest nature reserve is being destroyed.



> The worst fire in Belgium's history," commented the mayors of the towns of Waimes and Jalhay.


**All firefighting units from Belgium and Germany have been mobilized** to extinguish it. 

On Saturday, **the European Civil Protection Mechanism was activated. The population has begun to be evacuated** to temporary reception centers.
