**Japan has officially demanded that Russia dismantle a monument in Khabarovsk **erected in honor of the USSR's victory over militarist Japan in 1945.

**In Tokyo, it is considered unacceptable that the Soviet soldier on the monument is knocking down a border post with the chrysanthemum emblem**, which to this day remains one of Japan's state symbols.

**Prime Minister Takaichi stated that the country intends to firmly and consistently pursue the dismantling of the monument** and has already sent corresponding demands to the Russian side.
