**POLITICAL CRISIS DEEPENS IN FRANCE:**

**Deputies from both chambers of parliament have criticized Macron's government **over the situation with the protests.

At the same time, **the country's Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, condemned the violence at the rallies and also refuted any accusations of "police suppression**" of the protests, Le Monde writes.

Meanwhile, **footage is being published online and in local media showing security forces beating protesting schoolchildren with batons**, spraying canisters directly in their faces, and throwing stun grenades at them.

**According to the trade unions, 450,000 people took to the streets. The Interior Ministry estimates their number at 256,000. **Over the entire period of the rallies, more than 6,500 demonstrators have been detained.
