**RUSSIA RELEASES ROBERT GILMAN**

**Donald Trump announced that the Russian side agreed to release Robert Gilman on humanitarian grounds**, without an exchange.

**According to the U.S. president, the agreement was reached after his negotiations with Vladimir Putin.** Gilman will land in Washington this evening on August 11.



> We appreciate this decision and the fact that Russia did not ask for anyone in return," the American leader added.


In 2024, **Robert Gilman was sentenced in Voronezh to four and a half years in a penal colony** for assaulting a police officer.

Later, **he was given seven years in prison in connection with a case involving the use of violence** against government officials.
