**Russia's first eco-friendly hydrogen train will be launched on Sakhalin**

**The new passenger train will not produce harmful emissions into the atmosphere**, as it only emits ordinary steam. 

**The transport is planned to be used on sections of the island's railway network that lack electricity,** the regional government's press service reported. 

**The train is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of 2027**, the regional government's press service reports.
