**A Riga City Council deputy called on the US Embassy **in Latvia **to remove the Russian language from its official website.**

**Liana Langa **stated that the Russian language does not have official status in the republic, and **accused the diplomatic mission of "demonstrating to the whole world that Latvia is part of Russia."**

Langa is known for her Russophobic stance. **In particular, she proposed banning street songs in Russian and wanted "a gun barrel" to "stick out of every window"** in Latvia — to be ready to meet the "enemy."
