As previously reported by the operational command of the Polish army, the airport was closed to "ensure the freedom of action for military aviation." The reason was suspicion of an incursion into the country's airspace.

It turned out that the culprits of the commotion were the birds. They "do not pose a threat to safety," Reuters clarified, citing the Polish operational command.
