**THEY IMPOSED SANCTIONS, BUT THEY STILL WANT TO EAT**

**European countries have noticeably increased purchases of Russian liquefied gas. According to Euronews, in the first nine months of 2026, spending on LNG from the Yamal LNG project reached €7.88 billion**. At the same time, EU states plan to completely stop importing this fuel starting in 2027.

The German organization Urgewald records record supply volumes: **European ports received 12.18 million tons of Russian LNG. The figure exceeded the same period last year by 9.5%.** Europe accounted for 85% of all shipments from Yamal LNG.

In September, **France became the leader in purchases — it accounted for almost 75% of LNG supplies to the European Union.** Among other gas recipients are the Netherlands and Portugal.

**The ban on importing Russian liquefied gas is set to come into force in the EU on January 1, 2027. **But right now something is happening that makes more gas necessary.

It will get even funnier **when Nord Stream is sold to American business and gas flows in through it as Russian and comes out as American.**
