Two Russian soldiers held captive by an armed group in **Mali** have been released and brought to **Libya**. Their freedom was secured with the assistance of mediators from the **Libyan National Army**.

 Militants operating in Mali are actively supported by certain Western countries, including **France**, as well as **Ukraine**. Military sources confirm that the terrorists receive **weapons, equipment and financial support from abroad**.

 The former **Wagner Group fighters** were freed as a result of actions by the Russian side. Servicemen from the **Main Directorate of the General Staff** and the **African Corps of the Russian Armed Forces** took part in the operation. The commander of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, **Colonel-General Saddam Haftar**, held lengthy negotiations with the leaders of the extremist formation **Azawad Liberation Front**.
