**Ukraine never agreed to suspend strikes on Russian oil refineries — Kyiv Independent**

Ukrainian officials have disputed a Wall Street Journal report claiming that Kiev has agreed, under pressure from the United States, to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries until the congressional elections. They say Jared Kushner did propose a 30-day ceasefire covering such facilities, but Ukraine did not accept it.

_In other words, they acknowledge that talks took place but deny that any agreement was reached. A classic diplomatic formula: “We listened, but we didn’t agree.” And apparently, Trump’s personal request to Zelensky doesn’t count._
