  

**Vladimir Putin said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s motives in his statement on the Nord Stream pipelines were “very simple.”**


> “Poland was already opposed to it at the time, partly because, first of all, it would lose certain geoeconomic advantages as a transit country. And secondly, Poland would receive less revenue from the transit of our hydrocarbons—indeed, that is what happened; it began receiving less,” the president said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
