** “We drink less beer — their lives are saved”**

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs has measured support for Ukraine in mugs of beer. According to him, every European need only give up one mug a year to help Kiev.

From 2022 to 2025, Riga provided Ukraine with around €665 million in aid. And it has no plans to stop: in 2026, at least 0.25% of GDP is earmarked for support for Kiev. Meanwhile, the country’s state budget is showing “signs of a serious illness.”
