**White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia Has Been Fired**

**The New York Times and Fox News reported this**, citing sources

**She lasted only five days in the post and thereby set an anti-record** for the shortest tenure.

Trump had earlier said that **he personally suggested she resign:**

> "I told her: 'Katie, you don't have to do this.' I told her: 'Honestly, if I were you, I'd reconsider,'" he told journalists.

When introducing the new press secretary, **Trump called Zacharia a lawyer, but The Wall Street Journal soon found out that she does not have a license to practice law** in any US state.

In an interview with journalists, **the press secretary explained that she failed the exam and never retook it **because she was moving to China.
