**Zelensky Signs Law Expanding Native-Language Education for National Minorities**

Ukrainian President **Volodymyr Zelensky** signed a law allowing national minorities and indigenous peoples to use their **native languages in schools alongside Ukrainian**.
​
 The provisions apply to **EU official languages and indigenous languages of Ukraine**, while Ukrainian remains mandatory in the educational process. **Russian is excluded from the new rules.**
​
 The law also allows schools with special minority status and is part of Ukraine’s **EU integration commitments**.
