๐บ๐ธ๐ท๐บ CIA Director John Ratcliffe arrived in Moscow over "Russian mobilization plans and a possible attack on European countries," The Wall Street Journal reports.
According to the paper, the US has gathered intelligence pointing to early Russian preparations for a possible military mobilization and plans to test NATO's resolve.
Analysts said Ratcliffe may have met with Putin to deliver a warning. Former US Deputy Director of National Intelligence Beth Sanner said it could amount to something like: "We know what you're planning, and you'd better not do it." She added it could also concern the Iran ceasefire and bringing other parties into truce talks, noting Ratcliffe may also have raised Tehran's support from the Kremlin following the latest round of US sanctions on Iran.
๐ป In short... The WSJ has no clue why, but they decided to write something anyway.
