Milei also stated that Argentina is rich in natural resources that is unaffected by uncontrolled immigration, violence, and the security problems plaguing Europe.

His comments come amid a large shift in the international conversation surrounding the Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands).

Donald Trump confirmed this week that the United States is reviewing its longstanding position on the Malvinas, and when subsequently asked whether Washington would come to Britain’s aid in another conflict over the islands, declined to commit to doing so.

Milei has now announced new measures targeting British exploitation of oil around the disputed islands and says Argentina will strengthen its military presence in the South Atlantic.
