Terms of Service
Who we are
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website opentg.ai, the OpenTG API at api.opentg.ai, the OpenTG Telegram bot and the free tools on the site (together, the "Service").
The Service is operated by Yuriy Landovskyy, a sole proprietor (фізична особа-підприємець) registered in Ukraine and trading as OpenTG ("OpenTG", "we", "us"). Address: Lehotskoho street 74/11, Uzhhorod, Ukraine. Email: support@opentg.ai.
1. Accepting these Terms
By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Content Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You can read the public website without an account. To create an account or buy a plan you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.
If you add the OpenTG bot to a Telegram channel, you confirm that you are an administrator of that channel with the right to do so, and that the channel follows our Content Policy.
2. The Service
OpenTG collects posts from public Telegram channels and makes them readable and searchable on the open web. The Service consists of:
- The public website: channel and post pages, search, browse, and machine-readable copies of pages (
.mdversions andllms.txt). Without an account, search shows the first results of each search; signed in, it shows all of them, within the daily quota of your plan. - Free tools: Channel Viewer, Post Viewer and Embed Generator (public channels only).
- The OpenTG bot, which channel administrators can use to add their channel.
- The OpenTG API: a read-only REST API at
api.opentg.ai/v1that returns channels and posts from our index, full-text search, and live lookups of public channels, within the daily quota of your plan. See the API documentation.
We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then.
OpenTG is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Telegram Messenger Inc. or any other Telegram entity.
3. Accounts and API keys
You create an account at opentg.ai/account by signing in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email address. There is no password. Keep your email address current: we use it for sign-in and for notices about your account.
- Each account can hold one active API key. It is shown once, when you create it. We store only a hash of it and cannot show it again; you can rotate or revoke it at any time in the console.
- Keep your key secret. Do not put it in client-side code, public repositories or shared documents. You are responsible for all requests made with your key.
- If you think your key has leaked, rotate it immediately and tell us at support@opentg.ai.
- We may suspend a key that we reasonably believe is compromised or is being used in breach of these Terms. We will tell you when we do.
4. Plans and quotas
Each plan includes a daily quota, shared by your searches on the website while signed in and by your API and MCP requests. The quota and price of each plan are shown in our pricing section, and what each API request counts against your quota is described in the API documentation. Both form part of your plan.
- A website search counts once per search text per UTC day: further pages, filters, sorting and reloads of the same search are free for the rest of that day. A search that finds nothing does not count.
- Quotas reset every day at 00:00 UTC. Unused quota does not carry over.
- When your quota is used up, new website searches show no results and the API refuses further requests until the next reset. Searches you already ran that day keep working.
- Requests that fail because of an error on our side do not count against your quota.
- Short-term rate limits also apply, to keep the Service available for everyone.
- We do not offer an uptime guarantee except where one is agreed in writing for an Enterprise plan.
If we lower your plan's quota or raise its price, we tell you at least 30 days before the change affects you (sections 2 and 5).
5. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia). Creem is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: your payment is processed by Creem, and Creem handles payment-related inquiries and returns.
When you buy a plan, you buy it from Creem, and Creem's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. Creem takes the payment, issues your invoices and charges any sales tax or VAT. Where Creem's Buyer Terms and these Terms conflict about the purchase, Creem's Buyer Terms prevail.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in the console. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account returns to the Free plan.
- You can change plan from the Billing page. Any prorated difference for the rest of the current period is charged when you switch, and the console shows it before you confirm.
- If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for 7 days while Creem retries the payment. After that your account returns to the Free plan and the subscription is cancelled.
- We will tell you about a price change by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before that renewal.
- Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer law.
6. Using API data
You may use data from the API in your own products, research, monitoring and analysis. When you do:
- Credit the source. When you show a post publicly, name the channel and link to the original post on Telegram or on OpenTG.
- Do not resell the data. Do not sell, license or give away API data as a dataset, a feed or a competing data service, and do not share your API key or its responses with other people for that purpose.
- Do not mirror OpenTG. Do not republish a substantial part of our index, or build a service whose main purpose is to reproduce it.
- Respect removals. When a post or channel is removed from OpenTG (the API answers
404), stop showing it within 30 days. - Respect people. Posts can contain personal data. You are responsible for handling it lawfully. Do not use API data to track, profile, harass or discriminate against individuals, or to send spam.
- Stay within your quota. Do not use several accounts or keys, or the website, to get around your plan's limits.
- Live lookups are not moderated. A live lookup returns what Telegram shows for that channel at that moment, and we have not reviewed it. Do not use live lookups to collect content our Content Policy prohibits.
7. Content and intellectual property
Posts on OpenTG belong to their authors. We do not claim ownership of them.
- Channels added through our bot. By adding the bot, the channel administrator grants us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, index, display and make available the channel's posts on the website and through the API, for as long as the channel is on OpenTG.
- Other public channels. We show the text of original posts that are publicly available on Telegram, with the channel's name and a link to the original post. Photos and videos in posts are loaded from Telegram's servers, not copied to ours.
- Rights holders can ask us to remove content through the removal process in our Content Policy.
The OpenTG software, design, name and logo, and the way our index is compiled, belong to us. Use the API rather than scraping the website in bulk. Search engines and other crawlers that follow our robots.txt are welcome.
8. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- use the Service to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights;
- attack, probe, overload or disrupt the Service, or get around its security, rate limits or access controls;
- scrape the website or tools in bulk, or use them instead of the API to avoid quotas;
- pretend to be OpenTG or Telegram, or suggest that we endorse you;
- add a channel to our bot that you are not authorised to administer, or one that breaks our Content Policy.
9. Links to other sites
Posts can contain links to other websites. When you follow one from OpenTG, we show a warning page before you leave. We are not responsible for other websites, their content or their practices. Channel administrators are responsible for the links they post.
10. Removal, suspension and termination
We remove content that breaks our Content Policy or the law. Removed pages answer 404 and disappear from search, sitemaps and the API. Anyone can report content; the Content Policy explains how.
- You can delete your account at any time from the console's Settings page. Deleting it cancels any paid plan immediately.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, that fails to pay, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- If we close your account because you broke these Terms, we do not refund the rest of the current billing period, except where the law requires it.
- If we end your paid plan for any other reason, including discontinuing the Service, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
- We close the accounts of repeat copyright infringers.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- Posts are written by third parties. We do not check that they are accurate, complete or lawful, and nothing on OpenTG is advice.
- Channels and posts can be removed from Telegram or from OpenTG at any time, so we do not promise that any content stays available.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to what you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. If you have only used the Service for free, we have no liability to you.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
If you use the Service for business purposes, you will indemnify us against third-party claims, and the reasonable costs of defending them, that arise from your breach of these Terms or from your use of API data.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. For a material change, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Service after that, the new Terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any paid plan before then.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and the courts of Ukraine have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
Your purchase from Creem is governed by Creem's Buyer Terms.
Before starting any formal dispute, please write to us at support@opentg.ai so we can try to resolve it.
