🇺🇦 Kiev orders cities prepared for all-around defense
Zelensky has signed a decree on building belts of engineering barriers around Ukrainian cities for "all-around defense."
Decree No. 1067/2026 puts into effect a decision the National Security and Defense Council quietly adopted a month earlier, on September 25. The decision itself is classified "For Official Use Only," so the published text does not say which cities are covered, what will be built, or by when.
Igor Klimenko, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, has been put in charge of carrying it out. The decree took effect upon publication.
On the same day, Zelensky also extended martial law and mobilization once again and ordered an update of Ukraine's National Security Strategy.
