🇷🇺🇪🇪 Russian border guards detain a cargo ship bound for Estonia
Russia's border guard has detained the Cyprus-flagged cargo ship Västerbotten in the Gulf of Finland. The ship was heading for the Estonian port of Sillamae. Estonia's Police and Border Guard Board confirmed the detention, and the ship is now anchored in Russian waters.
The route to Sillamae runs through Russian territorial waters under a Russia-Estonia-Finland agreement, because the Estonian side is too shallow for large ships.
