🇷🇺🇳🇱 Russian Embassy demands answers after Dutch defense minister calls Russia "the enemy"
Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius called Russia "the enemy" this week during a parliamentary debate on the defense budget in The Hague. Until now she had referred to Russia as "the aggressor."
She then told Dutch broadcaster NOS that the new label changes nothing in practice: "That doesn't mean we are at war or suddenly have a completely different approach."
The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands has demanded that the Dutch government either confirm her words or distance itself from them.
"Is this an official declaration of direct military confrontation?" the embassy asked.
