🇬🇧 Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland leaders to sign UK break-up declaration Monday

The Telegraph reports that the first ministers of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland will gather in Cardiff on Monday for an unprecedented summit to sign a joint declaration pushing for the right to hold independence referendums.

The memorandum of understanding reportedly covers four areas: economy, energy, Europe, and internal cooperation. All three administrations back EU membership — Scotland and Wales as new members, Northern Ireland via reunification with the Republic of Ireland.

Scottish First Minister, John Swinney, has said UK PM Andy Burnham risks going down in history as "the final prime minister of the United Kingdom." Burnham, for his part, sent a letter this week insisting a Scottish independence referendum is "off limits" for now, citing lack of consensus.
