UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband told Parliament Britain will impose trade sanctions on Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, declaring for the first time that London officially "considers the occupation itself unlawful."

He said the UK "cannot simply watch" the erosion of the two-state solution, accused "settler terrorists" of ethnic cleansing in parts of the West Bank, and said the Israeli government "too often looked away."

France and Canada join the import ban; Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, and Norway had already moved or are preparing similar bans.

French FM Barrot said the West Bank is "on the verge of explosion" amid settler violence and unchecked settlement expansion.

The EU/UK move follows Isn'treal's approval of 1,200 new settler homes under the E1 plan — effectively splitting the West Bank from East Jerusalem.

🇬🇧UK PM Andy Burnham spoke with Daddy Trump beforehand; Downing St. said he stressed UK "commitment to regional peace," without detailing Trump's response.

➡️He announced Isn'treal is: closing the British consulate in Jerusalem; expelling UK reps from the Gaza aid center in Kiryat Gat; and barring 12 British MPs from entering Israel. "Those who act against Israel, Israel will act against them."
