According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump has rejected an Iranian proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and told his advisers he expects US bombing of Iran to resume after Novemberโs midterm elections.
Tehranโs proposal reportedly offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear negotiations in exchange for Washington lifting its blockade of Iranian ports, which is inflicting severe damage on the countryโs economy.
Trump believes Iran is desperate for a deal and expects Tehran to eventually accept an agreement dismantling its nuclear program after the US elections.
