Odisha-based BonV Aero has supplied 45 heavy-payload UAVs to the Indian Army’s Eastern Command for tactical logistics and mission-specific payload transport across the challenging terrain of Northeast India.

The UAVs are intended to support operations across areas where floods, landslides, steep terrain and difficult weather can disrupt conventional supply routes.

The deployment comes as the MoD has floated a tender for 2,715 logistics drones, highlighting the growing role of unmanned aerial logistics in frontline operations.

BonV Aero has previously conducted trials in Tawang, Siliguri, Dimapur, Kargil, Dras, Nyoma, Baramulla and Kupwara.

The company also claims a world record for carrying a 30-kg payload to 19,024 ft at Umling La.
