๐จ BIG: 42 former judges have signed an open letter defending the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The former judges expressed concern over repeated attacks on constitutional institutions and questioned allegations of โvote theftโ being made without supporting evidence, warning that such claims could erode public trust in the electoral process.
They said SIR is a legally established exercise aimed at maintaining accurate voter rolls and stressed:
โCriticism of institutions is a democratic right. Denigration is not.โ
The former judges urged political parties to raise their grievances through established legal and constitutional channels.
The list of 42 signatories includes former judges from across several states.
