๐ฎ๐ณ India is moving forward with a โน33,000 crore proposal to build three additional Kalvari-class (Scorpene) submarines at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), with support from Franceโs Naval Group.
The proposed submarines could feature around 60% indigenous content, an Indian combat-management system, upgraded sensors and weapons, and improved stealth capabilities.
The plan aims to strengthen Indiaโs conventional submarine fleet while bridging the gap until Project 75(I) submarines arrive.
