๐ฎ๐ท IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Zarifi, commander of the Shahid Sajjad Operational Headquarters in Saravan, died on Wednesday, Sept 23, during armed clashes in the Jihadabad area of Saravan, southeastern Iran, near the Pakistan border.
The IRGC confirmed Zarifiโs death during an operation against an armed group. Major Ahmad Zera'ati, the headquartersโ intelligence chief, also died.
Iranian authorities reported five armed group members killed and several others arrested, with weapons and ammunition recovered.
The Mobarizoun Popular Front claimed responsibility for the clash and the deaths of the two senior IRGC officers.
