The Andhra Pradesh Counter Intelligence (AP CI) Cell busted a major Pakistan-linked espionage network targeting strategic locations and naval establishments under Operation Firewallโ2026, which officially commenced on October 1, 2026.
โข Suspect Count & Naval Personnel: The investigation identified a module comprising 18 suspects, out of which 13 are naval personnel.
โข Deployment Scope: 12 specialized counter-intelligence teams were deployed across 10 states and Union Territories including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Goa, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar.
The teams coordinated directly with local police and state Anti-Terrorism Squads (ATS).
โข Arrests Made: Two suspects have been arrested for sharing classified defence data through encrypted channels after allegedly falling prey to social media honeytraps orchestrated by Pakistan Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).
