Iran captured a U.S. Dive-LD autonomous underwater vehicle near the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Navy and manufacturer Anduril have downplayed the loss, saying the vehicle was an older model and did not contain sensitive or classified equipment.
However, analysts warn Iran could still study its mechanical systems, sensors and design, potentially turning the capture into a technological gain for Tehran.
