In the 2025/26 school year, 42% of pupils identified as Muslim, compared with 33% belonging to Christian denominations and 23% with no religious affiliation.
In Viennaโs middle schools, the Muslim share rises to 49.4%, according to data from the Vienna Education Directorate cited by the Austrian Integration Fund (รIF).
