Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticised veteran actress Sharmila Tagore after she suggested that only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram should be sung due to religious sensitivities.

Kangana argued that art and poetry should not be interpreted solely through a religious lens, saying Vande Mataram represents the spirit of India's freedom struggle.
She also urged Tagore to “come out of Hindu-Muslim mindset.”
