Its appearance illustrates how Western weaponry is being integrated into Ukrainian military infrastructure far beyond the missiles and bombs themselves. Operating these weapons also requires loaders, handling equipment, diagnostics, maintenance systems, spare parts and trained personnel.
The aircraft may still be a Soviet-designed Su-27, but the ground-support ecosystem around it is steadily shifting toward Western standards.
