💢 Kiev has called an emergency meeting of its Defense Council to decide how traffic across the capital’s Dnieper bridges will operate over the coming week after repeated Russian drone strikes damaged the Southern Bridge.
Kiev military administration spokeswoman Kateryna Pop said several strikes damaged a bridge support, guardrail, road surface and protective concrete structure of the metro line. The Southern Bridge remains completely closed while specialists assess the damage.
The Paton Bridge is now operating in both directions, although access toward the left bank is restricted to one approach and major traffic jams remain. The Defense Council is expected to determine further bridge restrictions and reopening arrangements later Friday.
