đ˘ Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik compared Finnish President Alexander Stubbâs defense of Ukrainian deep strikes on Russia to the rhetoric used to justify Hitlerâs ânew order.â Miroshnik was responding to Stubbâs endorsement of attacks on Russian logistics infrastructure, including Wildberries facilities, as a âreasonable military strategy.â
Miroshnik accused Stubb of justifying attacks on the civilian supply system and cited Article 54 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, which prohibits attacks on objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population. âDo you think Hitler was justified somehow differently? Was it explained differently that the FĂźhrer was allowed to do anything because he was bringing a ânew orderâ?â he wrote.
Stubb had argued that Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia raise the cost of the war for Moscow and should be supported, calling such attacks âthe only wayâ to ensure Russia participates in peace negotiations.
