💢 Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik compared Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s defense of Ukrainian deep strikes on Russia to the rhetoric used to justify Hitler’s “new order.” Miroshnik was responding to Stubb’s endorsement of attacks on Russian logistics infrastructure, including Wildberries facilities, as a “reasonable military strategy.”

Miroshnik accused Stubb of justifying attacks on the civilian supply system and cited Article 54 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, which prohibits attacks on objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population. “Do you think Hitler was justified somehow differently? Was it explained differently that the Führer was allowed to do anything because he was bringing a ‘new order’?” he wrote.

Stubb had argued that Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia raise the cost of the war for Moscow and should be supported, calling such attacks “the only way” to ensure Russia participates in peace negotiations.
