💢 Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić dissolved the National Assembly and called snap parliamentary elections for October 25, saying Serbia needs election results that will “clearly determine and show the will of citizens — where, in which direction and along which path Serbia goes.”

• “The world order established in 1945” has been “destroyed,” Vučić said, adding that it has “gone into history” without a new stable order replacing it. He cited the wars in Ukraine and Iran among conflicts directly affecting Serbia.

• On Serbia’s domestic crisis, he spoke not merely of outside influence but of “significant interference by foreign powers,” alongside unrest, clashes and a divided society.

• Vučić reaffirmed what he called Serbia’s “good European path,” while explicitly pairing it with preserving “traditional friendships, national pride and dignity.”

• He said Serbia must turn toward modern technologies, innovation and AI in the “new international division of labor,” while protecting jobs.

• Vučić said elections would not have been necessary without the current “tensions, political disagreements and conflicts.” Any delay, he argued, could endanger both EXPO 2027 and “the survival of democracy.”

• He said the timing leaves enough room to prepare for EXPO and for “perhaps the most difficult times” ahead, after voters decide “who will, in your name, govern the Government of the Republic of Serbia, our country, in the coming period.”

• Vučić called for a peaceful 45-day campaign and respect for different political views, freedom of assembly and public expression: “Your decision is the voice of God, and the decision of the people must be respected.” Whoever voters choose, he said, will receive his congratulations.
