💢 Taiwan’s military plans to quadruple its combat ammunition stockpile from enough for 30 days of operations to 120 days, the Taipei Times reports, citing the Defense Ministry’s 2027 budget proposal.
The six-year procurement program is valued at NT$27.59 billion (US$868.16 million). Priority purchases include 120mm and 105mm tank rounds, 30mm cannon ammunition, 155mm howitzer propellant charges and high-energy explosives. The military says stocks also need replenishing after increasingly frequent exercises and drills.
