Trump personally pressed Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries because they were driving up American fuel prices โ and Zelensky ignored at least 6 requests, Axios reported, citing a US official.
"Zelensky is misreading the room. By continuing to hit refineries, he is eroding the good will that he has built with Trump over the last 6 months," Axios quoted a US official as saying.
According to the report, the US sees Russia's openness to resolving the conflict, and the administration is currently working on a new proposal.
