There are no saints on earth and there never will be. Some go to a monastery: "Oh, there are saints there!"
Sinners like the rest of us came there from the world. For what purpose? For salvation.

"Oh, I'll go to seminary to study to become a priest." There are no saints there, no one with wings there. Only when we die with wings will we fly with wings. And sinners came there too, with the goal of studying and serving God and the Church.

There are no saints in the Church; only when we are sanctified by prayer do we become God's holy people. Otherwise, sinners all come to church. And in the church, you will never find a single bishop, patriarch, metropolitan, priest, or schemamonk — you will never find anyone who is a saint.

There are no such saints on earth, and never seek them. It's a lie of delusion to declare oneself saint. We are sinners, but we are all, as I told you, on our way to God. And this journey to God will end when we are laid in a coffin with a wooden cross in our hands. Then we will be believers; then we have already come to God, we have come to Eternal Life and the inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven.

So, Lord, enlighten me – don’t look for saints. Be holy yourself, and then everyone around you will be holy!"
