IDF Spokesperson:

Earlier today, the Chief of the General Staff held another situational assessment with the Commander of Central Command, the Head of the Operations Directorate, and the Head of the Operations Division regarding the ongoing incident in the Qusra area.

The Chief of the General Staff instructed the forces to continue taking steps to strengthen order and operational control in the area and to prevent further serious incidents. As part of this, he ordered the deployment of an additional regular infantry battalion to reinforce the sector. The battalion, which is currently undergoing a rest and refit period, will be called up to the sector to strengthen operational control. Additional forces will also remain on standby for deployment as needed.

The operation is being conducted as a multi-agency effort involving the Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), with the aim of restoring order, maintaining security in the area, and bringing the rioters to justice.

Alongside the primary mission and the ongoing counterterrorism activity, while strengthening the defense of Israeli communities, the Chief of the General Staff instructed that procedures and rules governing conduct and the use of force in incidents of this kind be reiterated to all forces operating in the Judea and Samaria sector.
