Lapid is misleading the public about the defense budget.
Lapid’s claims are baseless and false. State revenues were higher than expected as a result of the government’s economic policy, and consequently the deficit is also lower than expected. Under these circumstances, the defense budget can be increased without raising taxes.
The claim regarding coalition funds and budgets for the ultra-Orthodox sector is also baseless. There have never been such amounts allocated to coalition funds and the ultra-Orthodox sector, not even close.
Lapid is abandoning Israel’s security for cheap political considerations.
