Netanyahu asked the mayor of Bat Yam, Zvika Brot, to serve as the Likud campaign manager and as the head of his election headquarters.

This is an unusual move, as it has never happened before that one person would hold both senior positions.

Netanyahu’s offer came a week after a poll was published measuring residents’ satisfaction with mayors of major cities in Israel, in which Brot ranked first with 75 percent support.
