The truth is simple: my appointment to the position of President was made by a decision of the Judicial Selection Committee, in accordance with its authority. Of course, I did not participate in that vote myself.

And the truth is that, despite the fake news being spread on this matter, the committee’s meeting was convened with the knowledge and consent of the committee’s chair, the Minister of Justice.

The minister chose to hold the stick at both ends: neither to attend the meeting himself, nor to deny any involvement in the appointment of the President of the Supreme Court."
