Even Israel's haters admit that Hamas numbers do not prove their accusations like indiscriminate targeting and other libels waged at Israel. Nor support the erroneous figures thrown around to do so (such as 70% of those injured in Gaza are women and children, often institutionally laundered such as in a July 2026 Oxfam report).

57% Adult males (18-64). Which does not account for Hamas, PIJ, and other groups documented recruitment, deployment, and use of child soldiers (from 12-17, and younger).

The numbers also do not tell you who was taking a direct part in hostilities (yes, children - i.e. a 17 year old boy, and women, and elderly can participate in hostilities) and become combatants, or lose their protection making them a legitimate target for the duration of that specific act they are taking part in.

All of which does not address the fact that numbers stripped of context does not reveal intent or actions of either side. Were civilians targeted? Who was killed? Who or what killed them? Were measure implemented to minimize civilian harm?

It is a fact that the IDF has implemented more measures to prevent civilian harm than any military in the history of urban warfare.

People who can't refute this, go back to the numbers and say but they were not effective. And the numbers still don't tell you that.
