For the first time: American autonomous marine boat rescues soldiers

According to reports, an autonomous boat of the U.S. Navy "saved" yesterday the two crew members of an Apache helicopter that was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz.

This is the first time such a mission has been carried out. It was reported that the autonomous boat belongs to the U.S. Navy's Task Force 59 - a unit specializing in operating unmanned vehicles.

The unit was established in 2021 and includes autonomous vehicles operating above and below the water surface. They are used for patrols and surveillance and are equipped with firing and communication systems.
