Good morning from Galilee.
Many of you know I have been struggling with sleep deprivation. Almost every night, I wake up around 2 or 3 a.m. and struggle to fall asleep again. Sometimes I manage another hour of sleep. Other times, by 5 a.m., I simply get up.
Many send me Bible verses about the rest the Lord gives His people, and I am grateful. Yet sometimes I feel the Spirit urging me to pray and consider my next steps as a believer.
The life of faith is anything but passive. We are called to run the race, fight the good fight, and keep the faith. And we must do so with purpose:
“Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.”
1 Corinthians 9:26, NKJV
I believe another storm is brewing in the Middle East, one that could break before this year ends. A weakened Iranian regime may try to strike again rather than accept its decline. The concern is that preparations for an Iranian attack could prompt Israel to strike first.
Meanwhile, we are watching support for Israel erode among the younger generation of our greatest ally.
Too many Christians remain silent. Others join the bandwagon of hostility toward Israel, fueled by ignorance and biblical illiteracy.
And here I am, at home overlooking the Jezreel Valley, a battlefield of the past and the gathering place for a future battle, asking myself: Am I doing enough?
I would rather ask what more I can do than assume all is well and become complacent.
As I travel the world and meet people face to face, I hear firsthand how my books have helped them and their loved ones emerge from despair and anxiety, focus on the Word, and stand with Israel.
I know God has called me to teach. I am neither a pastor nor a preacher. I am a simple teacher who once traveled the roads of Israel, teaching busloads of tourists. Today, I do the same in larger venues and through more than a microphone.
Writing books is a passion I never knew I had. Seeing what God has shown me poured onto pages that will remain long after I am gone brings me deep peace and gratitude.
Yet even that can never replace meeting people in person around the world.
Let’s warn the world about what is coming and proclaim the hope of salvation in Messiah Yeshua.
Let’s strengthen and encourage one another as we see the Day approaching:
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24–25, NKJV
Let’s stop attacking one another and join hands in the battle against the works of the evil one. Our enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Our Messiah gives life:
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10, NKJV
