If there is one thing we can learn from the Word of God, history, and our daily reality, it is that almost all those whom God uses for His purposes as leaders or teachers face fierce attacks from the enemy.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12

When you encounter one of them, never assume that everything is perfectly fine. It rarely is. Many battle depression at some point. Many struggle with physical pain. And in many cases, their family members also pay a price - mentally, spiritually, and physically.

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.”
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2

Think twice before rushing to accuse or attack them. Even if you disagree with what they teach, there are far better and more biblical ways to address it than through personal attacks and public shaming.

First, examine your own heart:

“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
Matthew 7:3-5

And when someone has personally sinned against you, follow the instructions of Messiah Yeshua:

“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.”
Matthew 18:15

Leaders and teachers are human. Do not worship them. Do not envy them. Do not seek to destroy or shame them.

Pray for them! They need it more than you could ever imagine!
