It’s 5:30 a.

It’s 5:30 a.m. on Sunday here in Catania, Sicily, and I’m up and getting ready for my second day of ministry at Missione Paradiso. Today I’ll be sharing two messages: “The Unchanging God” and “Coming Soon!”

Chaos is engulfing many parts of Europe, with protests reaching northern Italy and even Rome itself.

When I asked my hosts why Islam isn’t spreading as rapidly in Sicily, along with the unrest we see elsewhere, I was floored by their answer: “The Mafia!”

Sometimes those we call the “bad guys” stand in the way of evil, while those who think they are the “good guys” allow themselves to become useful idiots for it!

But yesterday, within the four walls of that wonderful worship center, the focus was entirely different. This is a community that cares deeply about its neighbors and the spiritual condition of people throughout Italy. We gathered as grateful sinners, saved by grace through faith, with the Holy Spirit dwelling in us (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 8:9).

We eagerly await the return of our Lord. Until then, we must be about our Father’s business, persevering in doing good and trusting that, in His time, we will reap if we do not lose heart (Titus 2:13; Galatians 6:9).

I am not merely here to teach about Israel. I am here to teach about the God of Israel. If you misunderstand His faithfulness to His people, you misunderstand His character!

“For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Please pray for fruitful ministry today, for the Holy Spirit to do His work, and for people to come to a saving knowledge of Yeshua, the Messiah!
