Many people ask me about the future of Israel, which, by the way, is very distinct from that of the Church.

The future of my nation was not only foretold by the Old Testament prophets. The disciples themselves clearly understood that Israel had a unique future.

In Acts 1, we read that after His resurrection, Yeshua appeared to His disciples for forty days and spoke to them about the kingdom of God. Before His ascension, He commanded them to remain in Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father - the Holy Spirit.

After forty days of being taught by the risen Messiah, they asked Him:

“Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
Acts 1:6

Notice His response.

He did NOT say:

“Israel has been replaced by the Church.”

He did NOT say:

“God is finished with Israel.”

Nor did He correct their expectation of Israel’s future restoration.

He simply addressed the timing:

“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”
Acts 1:7

Then Yeshua gave them - and through them, the Church - its mission:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

The distinction could not be clearer:

Israel has a promised future.
The Church has a present mission.

So instead of teaching that the Church has replaced Israel, we should be doing what Yeshua commanded us to do - proclaim the gospel and be His witnesses to the ends of the earth, while trusting God to fulfill every promise He made to Israel.

Israel’s restoration is not a matter of IF, but WHEN.

The Church’s mission is not a matter of WHEN, but NOW.
